If...big if here...but if the democracts wanted to shore up the safety net - while reducing Medicare to 60 (increase payroll to 9%, and remove the cap on high earners) and increase minimum wage to 15... all they have to do is offer to slash corporate taxes 5 or 7%. If you study the actual budget you will realize revenue does not come in via corporate taxes; real revenue is via income and payroll; stop trying to chase the Road Runner and make a deal where both sides win.
