Nothing he does is based out of greed or ill intentions; however his optics are not always correct and often guides / pushes industry, leaders, and countries is a very nihilistic direction. For instance his fight against infant mortality in the 3rd world will lead to systemic instability as more children reach adulthood - entering into an economy who cannot provide them a place; creating a hotbed for groups like ISIS, etc.. Basically he helped to grow the population without growing the gdp. The patent stuff these fools are rambling about mean nothing and misses the point of Gates legacy of failure. Both sides are wrong: developing world does not have production capacity, nor can you trust local government to distribute - nor can you rely on the goodwill of the first world to save the developing; also a chimera. Truth is humanity will not raise their hand and beg for vaccine until it mutates and starts killing kids; like the Spanish Flu. If you think America's partisan anti-vax movement is bad, try asking folks in the developing world to take the vaccine. Also, the RNA delivery mechanism can be super, super dangerous in the wrong hands - there are tons of military applications for the technology which will become more relevant over the next few decades.
