Think of the massive incompetence of the New York State government (just for scale look at rate of taxation vs quality of services provided - not just insane levels of corruption) and then ask yourself ....do I want these folks running my healthcare system? That is why the argument always fails with folks who arent desperate; you need to build a one payer system and then sell that system; if you want to expand Medicare - please try and understand the digital architecture of the system and re-platfrom it for the 21st century - and even then know that cost will not drop much since public and private hospital debt is well over 1 trillion USD.
