The cure for your affliction, your weakness, is simple - love your fate and stop valuing the opinion of others more so then your own. I am not saying reject opinions of others, all data can help improve your internal model, just ensure you know your value - not the value others place upon you. I am lucky, I learned this when I was a child - growing up very poor, surrounded by violence - learning this lesson early allowed me to move up in life, seeing opportunities where others only see hardship and isolation - I knew differently both are gifts and challenges; adventures - that lead to a personal meritocracy of sorts.
