Literally in Ukraine their are multiple different artillery / MLRS systems (fires) sending rounds down range. You will not know what munition is coming from which platform - just an odd call out that lets everyone know they are scared to death of the systems range.

Kind of guys, so Patriot system used in Iraq was abysmal (25% kill rate) - current one in Ukraine is the PAC3 - far superior with much better integrated targeting software, radar is next gen (everyone focuses on platform and not munition/software/radar). Also hypersonic decent is actually more predictable then most munitions' - reaction time matters, but modern Patriot is fairly systematic as long as it properly maintained. If damaged most likely it was due to poor maintenance from Ukraine, maybe improper loading (in all honesty).

  11. Dipshits - if the Patriot system was NMC - why cant Russia hit Kyiv? The problem was user error - it has been resoled, it only impacted one cannister. BTW - we all send the bottom shelf over. The best thing Ukraine has is access to systemic targeting network and Lockheed's PAC3 (which can intercept anything in the sky - 95% kill rate, self directing kinetic projectile).

There was a Navy white paper a few years back that pushed for direct energy weapons over hypersonic for a myriad of reasons (including ones you outlined). Biggest take away I got from the paper, upon descent they act like any other missile, as long as radar is FMC (and not manned by Saudi's lol) you can hit it. Also I dont think its possible they could carry a nuclear and large payload - they are kinetic.

  22. In other news - water is wet, hypersonic (ramjet, scramjet) projectiles are a money pit, why? Well on descent they act just like any other incoming missile. As long as your paired radar is turned on you can hit it (similar probability as other like missiles). The reason why patriots didnt intecept the Iranians (over Saudi oil fields) was that Arabs never activated radar. Literally no one reads military or industry white papers.
