Great video as always in relation to Blackrock and housing: without fixed income - which has been quite toxic or have very little ROI due to QE - Blackrock is boorstrapping fixed income like securities by buying the underlying assets and packaging the cash flows (rent). Also, the CEO of General Atlantic (who is Vox media chief investor / owner) sits on the board of Blackrock.
