  1. There isnt enough competition in the realm of distribution - it has been monopolized, same as music. Which in turns lessens the quality of the product.

  2.  @User-54631  that model wont scale without a platform in support of distribution - a PAAS (platform as a service) such as Youtube, Netflix, Disney's (Buena Vista, streaming, etc).
