I learned early on not to spend cold or hot times in a vehicle, they're either a refrigerator or an oven, very unreliable for survival. Way better to make shift a shelter outside and have a fire if possible(Note: I keep a clear plastic sheet to drape in front of tarp to use as super shelter). As always thanks for the video work and logical plan that worked for you, much appreciated. Stay safe, stay saved, see ya soon.

Excellent job and congrats to your wife for the expert sewing. A real hand made piece of gear to be proud of. Now just waiting to see it in action.. Take care.

Brother Kusk๐๐ Your approach to and easiness of enjoying the wild is much appreciated, few wilderness content creators show their true ability to live simply for the experience as you do. You have proven time and again "the more you know the less you need" scenario. There's too many creators out there that carry every new gadget, gizmo and gear, too complicated, which makes watching you that much more pleasurable. Breakfast sweet bread looked amazing, trying it out today unfortunately no campfire but thanks for the recipe. Good fire, good food, good time, thanks for the work. Stay safe and vigilant, see ya soon.

Not fair, you in the wild enjoying nature hunting, trapping etc., smoking meat, making jerky, eating said jerky in front of us while we're stuck in civilized areas...come on man! You really know how to rub it in and I'm not talking about jerky seasoning either... Of course I'm kidding, glad you're sustaining in the wild as it should be, so far I'd say success in the endeavor. Great work and determination on display. Much appreciated, thanks.

Uncomplicated, simplistic and a genuine pleasure to join you on another great camp out, the more basic the camp, the more I like it. Of course all your camps are an enjoyable experience that I find particularly uplifting but there's something about minimal needs that brings one closer to nature. Great fires, great food, great time, I'll be having Elk tonight in your honor albeit at home, not in the wild. Thanks for the adventure and some peace and tranquility, just excellent. Enjoy!

It's important to keep a saw blade sharp, skipping/skating is absolutely dangerous. Thanks for pointing that out. Good demo on the process with the file. See ya soon.

๐ Damn tasty looking stew right there. Never had Beaver but hear it's really good. Glad you got some healthy protein. Thanks for the update. Enjoy!

Nice shot! Ruffed Grouse is way different than Spruce Grouse, night and day difference in the taste department. I've hunted and eaten a lot of bird, Ruffies are one of the best eating for sure. Looked like a well deserved meal, a tasty one at that. Thanks for the video, well done.

Yep, good job brother. Been sharpening blades of all kinds for more years than I care to mention. Tried all kinds of ways to sharpen but always fall back on water stones and stopping, best way I know and much more satisfying in the end. With all the newfangled devices and machines on the market, some of which will do a good job, this is still my favorite way. Thanks for the video, well done. Stay safe out there.

Figured the actual processing would be off camera, no worries as I get to see plenty on the Outdoor channels on Dish. Meat looks delicious, what time is supper? A smoker will be a welcome addition to the camp as well as a hide rack for pelts. Maybe those videos will be a bit longer๐ Congratulations!

Many talents and very handy to be able to use them. Most wouldn't take the time or go to the trouble to repair but simply buy new. Nice to see someone actually intent on using a product beyond it's normal life span. Good job sir, enjoy for a few more years in the great outdoors.

Simple and practical smoker even though it took some time to build. I was thinking the same thing about the boughs but your solution works great. Hope it does the trick, preserved meat will be a blessing. Thanks for the video. Stay safe out there, see ya soon.

Awesome start to a "wild" series of videos. I'm as excited to watch as you are to make these adventures come to life I imagine. Thanks for all the hard work and time put in bringing this video series to us, much appreciate. Take care, be safe, see you soon.

Lots of work but good nights of sleeping coming. Up off the ground is the only way to go, getting somewhere to sit is a plus. Nice job sir, well done. Thanks.
7
Simple is good๐๐ Bed looks nice and can be made nicer if needed. Heated tent, soft, comfortable bed, don't know if I'd get up early or not...depends. Great video bro, thanks for the update on the newest Kusk Camp. See ya soon.

Almost seems you've done some soldering at some time. Solder flux=pine resin...to clean the flux use ISP alcohol...hand sanitizer... Great first aid info, have done this a few times myself. Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas.
5
Nice! Tasty and sweet, cooked outdoors made them even better. Split log stove worked great, good idea. Thanks for the video, see ya soon.

Bush food and cowboy coffee...yes sir. Thanks for the recipe, will try this out as it does look good and also another smooth video. Stay vigilant.

ย @EdwinFulk-yk9noย No misinformation was given in my comment, nowhere does it say leave the area nor does it say go into the forest. Thanks.
4
Nice job bro๐๐ Can't wait to see the final fitment with straps, any bracing and tensions in place. I know it will be heavily used and appreciated, great work by hand. Thanks for the work and video. See ya soon.
4
Excellent, thank you. Simple, semi primitive and well done.. Been watching for several years, always a good experience.
4
Simple, easy meals that are tasty and filling is all one needs out in the bush. Nice work with the camp axe/bow saw building the chair, practicality and utility abound in your videos, well done. Camp looks great, thanks for the work. See you next time.

Smart and sensible content. I have many knives in both configuration, I much more enjoy using a smooth rounded spine also. All my firesteels have a dedicated scraper but I only use them when needed. Thanks for the video, well done.
3
Excellent job bro, you done this before?๐๐ Thought so, much more than you let on.... Are you going to seal the wood with some mystic mineral oil or something? Haven't seen a notice on the "Wild" channel in a while, surprised when this popped up. Great video, thanks for the work. See ya soon.
3
Oh yeah, here is cozy too. No worries brother and the other platform will work for the "banned" content on the other channel. One way or another the connection will be made... Stay safe, God bless.

Simple is best, no sweat seating. Excellent.

Coming along nicely, I see many additions in the future. Yep, as long as the weather holds for you the smaller stove should be fine. Where you're at though, no guarantee Mother Nature won't change her mind very quickly. Thanks for the video updates, gonna be fun.
3
Definitely found some viable locations, should have some good luck soon. Self sufficiency may be your only alternative unless you leave to re-supply which I suspect is not in your plans. Thanks for the update. See you soon.

ย @KuskBushcraftย Thanks for the reply brother, I know you're busy. It always a pleasure watching you live life to the fullest.๐

Going to be epic! Thanks brother, much appreciated. Stay vigilant and safe, hoping no Grizzlies. See ya soon.

Nice! No worries about not filming the entire endeavor, the business of finding the perfect spot for base camp is way more important in the scheme of things, besides we'll see the camp in future videos. Pack looks fantastic and if it handles 42lb with no complaints, that's a super win for you. 40+lbs is no joke, that's a lot of weight to haul around but it will get lighter๐ Congrats to you and the Mrs for a superb job building the pack, old school construction with modern utility and practicality. Great video and good luck during the season. See ya soon.

Good stuff brother Kusk๐๐ I guess everybody that wears outdoor boots seriously, knows how to treat, protect and break in their pride and joys. The question is ; do they maintain them through out the year? Here in the high desert of New Mexico we have lots of dust and sand, we have to clean and treat the leather on a regular basis. Agreed on the all leather option, way more expensive but worth every penny. Thanks and take care.
2
Been using cast iron and carbon steel for years and years, only way to go IMO. Thanks for the video, much appreciated.
2
It was a great series for sure and much appreciated. Would liked to have seen more video content but technology once again limited the outcome. It's a good thing one doesn't have to rely on tech to live out in the wild, yeah it's nice but not needed. Thanks for the well done content and filming, will be looking forward to your next adventure. Merry Christmas!

I knew those sets looked productive bro, good job. Hope the next video of processing doesn't get the heave ho, You know YT! Thanks for the work bringing us along, nice video, well done.

Nice little "fireside chat" sir, many thanks. Intelligent, no nonsense, casual and entertaining video as always, split log stove works like a champ and the burger was certainly tasty looking. Echoing some others, I couldn't find the listing for your other channel, will check again. Interesting idea having a chat on a regular basis, novel way to keep subscribers wanting more. The Lynx sighting was a good omen, fortune is sure to follow. Appreciate the trip, see you next time.

Nice update, thanks. Good thinking, much appreciated. No waste๐

Excellent brother Kusk๐๐ Nice to be able to return to a previously established camp and still find it standing and usable. Lucky with the tree, handy resource, firewood for days. Do you carry protection on trips not associated with hunting? Yeah, great camp, fire, food, activity and relaxation, hard to beat. Thanks for the work and trip, very enjoyable. See you soon.

Nice work, pretty handy with that chainsaw. Seen it before so knew it would turn out good. Thanks for the snowy view, see ya next time.
1
Good job and good luck. Looked like successful implementation to me, waiting for results now. Great skill to have, most folk do not. Thanks for the content, be safe. See ya soon.

๐๐ You're one of the best axe/hatchet guys I've seen here on YT, great skills and patience. Nice table, now for a chair eh.. Great video, thanks.
1
Many moons ago you used to make what essentially were ASMR videos with a voice over edited in, hard to describe but they were very unique and much appreciated. Timeline escapes me but it must have been several years back. Glad to see you once again in the wild enjoying what we all need...nature. See you next time, thanks.

Practicality, utility, simple and well thought out, good job. Of course every journey requires different items specific to the needs of such particular trek, this is a great way to address your individual situation. There are many single cavity bags out there but an old school duffel seems choice in application, smart. Thanks for the work. Enjoy!
