@HankBukowski Because they were the ethnic group to profit the most of it and were also the ones to prolong it (at least within the United States) while many other countries had already abolished slavery by 1861. Reminder that nativism was a heavy player in the early and mid 19th century of the United States

@E_Rex_Sean Lmao I'm Hispanic so I don't really got a horse in this race (especially when my country abolished slavery without having to kill 700,000 of their own. Again, who were the ones to continue practicing it even after their own former colonial masters had already abolished the practice 30 years ago?

@E_Rex_Sean Yes, I do acknowledge slavery in Africa still exists but that doesn't mean Europeans are also absolved of their own crimes. That's like saying the Soviet Union was justified in their actions in Berlin because the Nazis committed their own war crimes. I'm not saying be perfect, I'm saying that everyone should have equal responsibility for their own set of crimes rather than trying to justify one over the other.
