  4. ​ @Lolpillow Ethnic discrimination was still very important which was why for example, Italians and Irish were often viewed as lesser people due to not being Anglo-Saxon and Catholic. It got so bad that during the Mexican-American War, some Irish soldiers would defect to fight for Mexico.

  7. ​ @TaurusSaurus That specifically occurred in 1891 in New Orleans when 11 Italians were falsely accused of murder with the news at the time flat out lying about what happened as well.
