  2. Apparently he was a heavy smoker and many years ago had a lung removed because of cancer. He did stop smoking but he also battled the lung disease COPD which is smoking related. To be honest when you read about the other illnesses he had apart from the two I have just mentioned I am amazed he lived to 80.
