  5.  @drparnassus2867  I am not saying that there were no strikes when Margaret Thatcher was in power. What i am saying is that the Conservatives leave the country in a stronger position when they leave power unlike Labour, (last financial crash, bank bail outs etc.). The weakness when Labour are in power is the part played by the unions who see Labour as a soft touch and they slowly take them over. One of the famous strikes under a Labour government was "The Winter of Discontent" in 1978-79 when the public sector trade unions brought them all out on strike.
