Same happened in Bolsover at the last election when the people living there had had enough of Labour and voted Conservative. The Labour MP Dennis Skinner has held his seat for 49 years in Bolsover.

My partner works at a local council in South Yorkshire and they advertise jobs with the most ridiculous job titles known to man, one such job was for a "short break lead", lol. Also the job descriptions leave a lot to be desired and they make no sense and waffle on about "strategies" etc. What is not amusing is the salaries for these so called "jobs" they can be eye watering.

I remember Derek Robinson (red robbo) the Union leader at the UK car manufacturer British Leyland who successively orchestrated 523 walkouts in a 30 month period, not a surprise when British Leyland went bankrupt. The UK was in danger of becoming the strike capitol of Europe. If Jeremy Corbynov had won the last election then this is what the UK would have been in for. You can see Red Robbo in action if you type on Youtube "Leyland Strike". Labour have never been on the side of the "working man".

In the 1970's the UK car manufacturer British Leyland had a union leader called Derek Robinson who managed to get the workforce to engage in 523 walkouts, British Leyland went bankrupt and the UK almost became the strike capitol of Europe. Every time I saw Jeremy Corbynov I could visualise hundreds of Strike placards waving behind him and back to the bad old days of Labour.

@oldskool4572 Gordon Brown''s "light touch" regulation of the city contributed to the 2008 financial crisis.

@Whiteythereaper True, Labour were on the side of worker's rights but the thorn in the side of Labour are and always will be "the unions". How could a company like British Leyland be successful with a union figure like Derek Robinson who managed to implement 523 strikes in a 30 month period?. What is remarkable is how the workforce did not work out how the 523 strikes would effect this company that they were working for and so it should have come as no surprise to them when it went bankrupt.

It has been reported that Tony Blair has a property empire estimated to be worth about £30 million.
