The idea of a pet outliving you makes you feel happy, because then it saves you from the heartbreak and they will grief on their own. That sounds non-ideal, but sure, each their own opinion. What I was going to say is that you suggested to get a new "pittie" and those get euthanized asap in the shelters. So if you were to die, your pitbull will be dead within weeks, if not days.
