  1. These things though;  1. The chlorine is bad for them and hurts their eyes and skin really bad.  2. They can inhale a lot of water, which can cause infections in their lungs and just..well..death. Babies can die pretty quickly when they become ill. 3. The baby is terrified. How often is the baby going to be in a swimmingpool all by himself after all? 4. They'll forget about the technique. Everything learned before the age of 4 is not going to stay there forever. Hence why kids are 4 when they go to school.

  2. ***** Okay well, the áverage two year old talks with two words, like I said. And I completely agree with the fact that you should trust whoever you know. And I know myself and I know my diploma is in the box in the closet, so I stay with my previous point. :) Have a nice day.

  3. ***** I'll explain to you why that is. They gét abilities tó learn...around 2,5 years. So everything you teach them before, will take a lóng time to learn and usually...like I mentioned, they forget and have to re-learn once they gét the abilities to learn it. I have never heard a two year old 'speak whole stories.' The normal 2-year old abilities to speak are two-word-sentences. "I cookie" Around 2,5 they combine those with small sentences 'I want cookie please' 'I saw teacher' 'Lindsay has a doll.' Also, science has proven that babies that go to 'babyswimming' have twice as big a change to get bronchitis, ear-infections, allergies and asthma. Clorine-fumes cause those. Also, babyskin is pretty thin, so babies get irritated dry skin that starts to flake. Source; I am a Pedagogic Worker and I have graduated after 3 years of hearing this information nonstop.

  4. Tara Allright then, but if you keep them close to you and wait untill they're old enough to learn how to swim, it costs a whole lot less and it saves the baby's lungs and stresslevel.

  5. Tara About the first part; I live in a country surrounded by water. I'm basically a mermaid, we live at least 20 meters under sea-level here. There's water éverywhere in here. Still I never (almost) drowned. Second, you mention dead babies. Dead babies and babies with ear-infections, trauma and lung-infections are not dead babies. You even suggest that íf there was a dead baby, that he wouldn't have any business on his hands. Like they close a pool after someone drowns or something... After this you say; 'Kids don't like a lot of things, doesn't mean they don't need to learn them.' You are só missing the point here. You are só só só missing the point here. You compare the clorine in your lungs and the ear-infections, to a wound on your knee when learning how to bike. There is a BIG difference between falling of your bike while learning how to bike, compared to inhaling clorine fumes while learning how to swim as a baby. It would be more equal in comparison if you put a baby on a bicycle and teach it how to bike. Which would be fucking pointless, exactly. I have been taught around the age of 5, how to swim. Which started gradually. With games in the water and running around. Putting your face in the water for a couple of seconds with your eyes closed. It might be a good alternative for people that are too stupid to close the damn pool like they're supposed to do or people that live on a boat. Other than that, it's a needless way to fuck up your child's lungs and give them PTSD.
