  1. My city (Weesp) lies next to Amsterdam and our flag is horizontally striped, blue-white-blue. Because of the rivers on both sides of our city. But our neighbouring city (Muiden) had the same, in vertical. In the old days, people that didn't want to pay toll when sailing to/from the other city, would simply turn their flag around and lie about their birthplace. So now ours says WSP and theirs is also horizontal and has a yellow triangle on the left side.
