Na 25 minuten komt hij kokhalzend naar buiten rennen en geeft over in de tuin. "Aahh gadver!" "Nou, dan ga ik die 100 euro wel winnen..", zegt de Belg zelfverzekerd en stapt het toilet binnen. De Nederlander en Duitser wachten. 10 minuten, 20 minuten, 30 minuten, 35 minuten. Er klinkt geen geluid meer. "Zou hij onwel geworden zijn?", fluistert de Duitser. The Dutchman and German wait. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 35 minutes. There is no sound anymore. "Did something happen to him?", the German whispers. Then they hear scratching on the inside of the door. They quickly pull it open and the skunk comes rushing outside.

@Ms.takenlee Blacksmith's hands stop changing back to white after a while, that's why I mentioned it. It's a difficult situation and believe me, there are many solutions (I personally would prefer a black ánd soot mix of Petes) but that's not the solution that the anti-Petes want.

@roy_hks Actually on Curacao, they made a lot of video's saying; 'What's the problem, we love black pete here." That's one of the reasons why I feel this is so out of context. I understand not all of the interviews fit into the video, but it's quite clear which ones they picked and which ones they didn't.

@LunaJo67WDHTMJ He was tired and fooling around, he's a younger version, I agree this is not the common behavour one can expect from a Saint Nicolas.

@Ms.takenlee Have you ever seen a miner's hands? They turn black and it doesn't wash off after a while. Saint Nicolas represents the days and Black Pete, the mythical figure, represents the night and winter. He's sowing (pepernoten) seeds for the upcoming year. It's an old myth about a Saint saving three children from a certain death. I don't have time to type the whole thing.

My dad wears a helmet on his racing bike. Not on his normal bike. We live in the Netherlands. If I see non-racingbike-people wearing (bike)helmets, I know they are Germans.

Magnificent 7 (not the action movie) is a movie with Helena Bonham Carter is about several types of Autism. At some point, they show how Christopher looks around the room, I believe. That's exactly the same as how I watch things. In detail and back/forth glancing over items with details. I found that a pretty good movie as well.

I think what's important is that there is a small group that's against Black Pete (a mixed group) and the rest of the black people, including the ones in the Black-petes-groups, see Pete as a mythical figure with black facepaint. And they enjoy seeing everyone appreciated for their personality, once all the freckles, wrinkles or recognisable features are gone and everyone is just 'Pete.' I know how much cultural diversity there is in the groups. You just can't see it, because everyone is equal with the Facepaint on. I agree with you that we should make sure that everyone is also equal without the Facepaint on. But removing the national childhood-hero and replacing him with a sooted recognisable person is not the solution. As I said, he is not just the childhood-hero for white people, he is the childhood-hero for Morroccans and Turks and Asians and black people and everyone that grew up with him. Apart from ofcourse, the anti-Petes.

It's not about "white" or "black", he's supposed to represent a mythical figure, hence the reason why there are also black people in the groups that dress up as the national hero, Pete. You just can't see the difference, because, you guessed it, they are made unrecognisable, so the kids don't recognise their family-members in the group. Everyone is appreciated equally in thes groups, no matter their race. Nobody can see your race or gender, you are seen as Pete, the hero.
