I'm a Dutch female, and I recently tried to join an American box-swap-website, but instantly got removed.
Since I'd been overly polite, and used smileys everywhere, I thought it must've been a mistake. I had tried to avoid being the 'grumpy, disarming, lovable, sober Dutch' that I am inside.
But after the moderator ignoring me for 3 days, I finally got an answer. The reason for removing me after one day, was that I was too negative.
And when I asked for an example, she said; 'You mentioned that you had a negative experience on another page, but that you were fully confident to meet a friendly person here.'
I said; 'Yeah..' and she said; 'That's negative. We don't need that here. That's judgemental." I said; 'Removing me for saying óne slightly-negative thing is also judgemental.'
When I explained I was very upset about this, because it was my new chance to make friends, she said that I should keep my negativity to myself next time I want to make friends.
I mean, this explains why the World-Wide "Everybody is welcome, come join us!" website only had 13 Americans and one Spanish bloke that rotated around their swap-boxes. Ridiculous.
