There´s so much wrong with this, I can´t even begin to describe it.
First of all, what kindof massive home is that? Even by American standards... that shit is uselessly big.
Second, sending people to war, in many ways, is unneccessary and messed up. 'Defending your country' is usually more like 'sacrificing your life, body, soul, mind, and family and future for some mistake the government (is making or) made.
Third, there's so many veterans that get honour and respect for "serving" (sacrificing) but I would suggest it's better not to. You're making the job seem to be about honour.
It's not about honour and glory, you need to realise what you're doing and what it is for. In my country, a veteran has the same status as a doctor. Clever, studied a lot, gets respect, but you don't talk to them on the street or something.
Instead of spending those millions of dollars on 'fallen'(sacrificed) soldiers' funerals with airplanes and banners and trumpets and flags, and even a canine unit that dies will be trumpetet away, you can put that money into free cannabis-pills and therapy for the ones that decided to go and came back with (ofcourse) trauma.
