  6. I used to work for the V&D company in the Netherlands and 2 weeks before they'd officially had to start paying me (I was an intern for a year) they sacked me. I received my daily schedule and it was full as sh.. with additional tasks I usually wasn't responsible for (instead of 3 floors, I now did all 6 plus basement plus additional bonus-store plus helping the rest with a display of trolleybags.) But the space after 'lunchbreak and then conversation with manager' the schedule was empty. When I was told I was fired, I asked why and they said I wasn't working hard enough. I said that I had cleaned the entire 6 floor building today, while the other 6 members of the team (Femke, Eline, Marlies, Wendy, Dark-Wendy (who was friendly, the other Wendy was awful) and Bep the manager edit; I forgot Annelieke) had worked together on stacking trolleybags. Bep the manager repeated that she felt I was not fast and strong enough to join the team and I asked her why she wouldn't then sack me in 2 weeks, when I at least got my diploma. Sure, she'd have to pay me for 3 months, but that hopefully wasn't the reason for sacking me nów, was it?! Bep got angry and started sharing stories that made no sense. She claimed Wendy had told her that I would 'disappear' when working together with her. I said Wendy had the nasty habit of sending me upstairs (7 floors) to get her screwdriver, and then 'realise she already had it in her backpocket' and send me back upstairs for pliers when I returned. Bep screamed furiously that I had no right to offend her 'right hand' Wendy and that I should be ashamed. There was no way around it, I was fired and lost my chance at a diploma with this too. When we sat down to say goodbye to the other co-workers, it turns out they already had known for a while. Eline asked me where I would finish my internship. I responded confused and she clarified; 'Well, what internship is next? Bep told us that you would get a better workplace, somewhere else." I looked at Bep, who wisely stuffed her mouth with her lunch (ravioli) and went silent. After a while she said; 'I never said we would provide that workplace, Eline. It is up to Widdekuu91 to climb back up the ladder and find herself a place. I hear McDonalds is hiring people without a diploma." She then cackled and stuffed her mouth again. Eline broke down in tears (not as much as Femke, who left the table sobbing) and Eline whispered; 'You foul, evil hag, we only signed that form because you said Widdekuu91 was better off somewhere else. You implied she would merely finish her internship on a different location! I can't believe you've done this!" Wendy then made me sign a contract and assured me there was no way out of the building unless I signed. When I joked (innocent joke to lighten the mood) 'you'll hear from my lawyer, hihi' and handed her back the paperstack, she grinned and said; 'Haha, funny, you just signed away all your rights, so you have no leg to stand on.' I will not go into detail about what Wendy did to humiliate me one last time (amongst others, emptying my bag and making me defend every hairclip and tampon in there, while she counter-argued that I could've stolen it from them, youknow, if they were a departmentstore that actually sold tampons..) and to keep the name of the company clear, the school and manager decided it was better to spread a different version of the events to the fellow students in my classroom. That version being that I lost my mind during the stacking of easter-eggs on a shelve and that I threw them on the floor, made a 'snow-angel' in them and had to be dragged away in front of shocked costumers, while covered in chocolate and supposedly high on harddrugs while I growled and shouted; 'I AM THE EASTERBUNNY, NOO NOOoooOOOOOOOO! i AM THE ONLY EASTERBUNNY! GRRRRRRRRR GRRR EGGS, THEY ARE MY EGGS!' You'd be surprised how many students in my class ate that story like..well..like chocolate. I guess it was a blessing in disguise that I did not start working there, because they went bankrupt within a year, but having to explain why you didn't get a diploma after years of studying (and people immediately assuming you must've done something awful to be kicked from school without a diploma) is awful. They never believe that you didn't do something wrong.
