My sister has trained her dog, from pup-age, that the whole family is "allowed" to pick her up, groom her, touch her eyes and face and mouth.
And she often trains the dog to accept touching the stomach, the paws, lifting the tail, grooming the tail, etc.
Especially when she was on holiday and ran into the bushes, she had a load of ticks and we had to find them in her long, lóng hair and pull them out.
So she kindof knows that if she sits still and doesn't move, she'll get praise, love, hugs and most important; sweets.
At the vet, she's more scared, but when my sister is nearby, she knows it's okay and lets them check her ears out a bit more relaxed.
I always feel bad (and confused) for families with dogs that haven't trained them and then the dog goes mental and they have to restrain them and it's all such drama and shaking and pooping and howling and that's not necessary.

@judygambel2801 I know the kind of owner, it's either ignorance or lazyness, but it's very annoying when people say that.
I know someone that has a dog that is unbelievably un-trained and very big and strong and 'wild' and the only reason the owner has the dog under his "controll" (but not really) is because the dog is wearing a muzzle, two leashes, a slipping-chain (what's it called...those noose-like chains. Chokechains?) and a spikey one, with the spikes on the inside.
The dog used to be friendly and fine to train. After a few months of the horror-gear on his body described above, he wasn't fine any longer.
Other dogs playing would accidentally push the spike-chain and hurt the dog. The muzzle was tight and you could see the dog visibly upset if it had to wear it again.
One day, the owner decided nót to wear the muzzle though and a squirrel (or bird) walked past and the dog instantly ran off, pulled the leash with such enormous force that it broke the owners hand ánd dragged around a heavy chair because the second leash had been tied onto the leg of the chair.
The dog went insane, barking, growling, went for the kill and the cat nearly escaped, but he bit two mice that happened to be in the way, in the field and those were killed instantly. The dog now is nearly 5 and has to "re-start" the training.

I hope the owners pay attention to it though and make sure they give their dog the right food.
I know a lot of people that have gassy dogs and then, when I stay over, I see them stuffing their dog with human foods, rice, chicken, potatoes, meat, biscuits, bits of ice-cream, cake, anything they eat, the dog gets a bite of ór they get to slobber up the rest on the plates.
A few moments after, the bloated goodboi is laying down and farting away. And then they tell me; 'Yeah sorry, the dog is really stinky."
