Wow, this became toxic quick.
All of you dó realize that the females in question were talking about bored 'checking their phone, hanging on the couch' fathers that "just wanna watch the game" every weekend?
I mean, I used to nag my ex about taking the trash out. One day I just stopped doing that (I even announced it, so he knew I would no longer remind him.)
2 weeks later I visited (we had a long distance relationship, together for nearly 5 years at the time) and I casually asked what the smell was, when I walked into the room.
He said; 'Nothing' and while I unpacked my bag, he snuck into the kitchen to clear out the trashbin.
He screamed like a kitchenmaid and I asked what was wrong. He ran away to wash his hands, turns out it was loads of maggots crawling all over the bin.
I mean, I'm not saying nagging has a purpose, but my kitchen aint got maggots.

@WillBilly.
I fully understand, but certain tasks (taking bins out, rinsing dishes (not doing dishes, but rínsing them) and putting food in the fridge (or taking it out) are tasks that you can't ignore, because things will quickly go downhill from there.
I never nagged him about vacuuming. I have asked if I was allowed to vaccuum, but he told me; 'No, this is my house. Leave your hands off my stuff. It's my responsibility.'
I have asked him if I was allowed to mop the kitchen. No. Wasn't allowed to fold/sort the cabinets. Wasn't allowed to do the dishes on my own.
Any 'rummaging around' in his private stuff, was not appreciated. He emphasized I wasn't his mother, and shouldn't become like a mother. No cleaning for me.
So instead, I slept in bedsheets with parmezan-cheese that he dropped on there and refused to wash. I opened the cornflakes and found several foodmoths and more larvae in the sugar.
I captured the flies in the room and put them outside (the source of the flies was a dead mouse somewhere behind a cabinet) and I still was nót allowed whatsoever to even take the dirty plates to the kitchen.
Not rinsing the dishes (no matter how tired you are) means that you get bugs and mice. Open windows in the kitchen to get rid of the stench, speed up the process.
Not taking the bins out (or at the least, putting them outside your house) means mould and maggots.
And leaving food in the fridge or cabinets, once it starts to mould, is causing the whole contents to mould as well.
I mean..I never said a word, only calmly mentioned; 'Dearest, the bread is mouldy. And the yoghurt. And the custard. And the potatoes. And the salad. Dearest....there's a larvae in the oatmeal. Dearest...dearest...please come over, there's a larvae in the oatmeal.
And that is the type of person they meant. The person that says; 'Ew a larvae? Well, fold the cornflakes-box back up and put it back where it was. I'll get new cornflakes tomorrow.'
