Thing is, status is not persé about the pile of Shein-clothing you have laying around. Or the amount of Wish-baskets in your shed.
I have purchased my most beautiful dresses in the Thriftshop, for about the same (or a lower) price and I could actually feel the fabric and try them on.
The choice is less, but unless you nééd a dress asap, it is a good place to look.
I have an abundance of stuff, wáy too much at home, because I take in free stuff and craft with it. My stuff is necklaces made of bones that I got from a huntsman, in trade for shells. I have wooden planks that I paint on, a shitloads of pencils from the thriftshop, a pile of craftingpaper, etc.
Most of this was purchased secondhand or donated to me, or traded. You don't give up a lot of comfort, if you really want something, you just get it new, but I don't remember the last time I did that (apart from maybe a matress, pillow or a pair of proper shoes for difficult feet. Practical stuff, youknow, that you can't find in the thriftshop.)
Then again, I found my best summerblanket (still using it, it is lovely) in the garbagecontainer. Washed it 2 times, rinsed it properly and there you have it. I have slept wonderfully under it since April. New it would have costed around 40 or 50, it is properly woven.
