@g.r.senterprisevenatorclas7314 Absolutely not :) If you have it often, or 'sudden' bad thoughts during a seemingly fine activity (during a birthday or just a lovely day out in the park) they call it intrusive thoughts.
I can have a great day, enjoy myself during dog-cuddling and then envision someone running inside and stabbing the dog, without that threat being realistic.
The more calm you are, the less that'll happen and it helps to talk about it (to therapists or psycholgists) and to acknowledge it is a thought, that comes from stress.
Allow yourself to have the thought for a few seconds, then say; 'Thanks brain, I'm going to think of something else now, I am in controll of my thoughts" and then continue.
If it pops back up, you think; 'I have already acknowleged that thought. I am not currently in any danger. I am fine, I am safe. I am going to do something else now' and then you continue your day.
The intrusive thoughts can be worsened by lack of sleep, (over)consumption of alcohol/drugs/medication, trauma, constant stress (to be fair, we're all in that currently) and noise-pollution and sometimes (I've personally noticed) even a bit of hunger and thirst or being cold. :)
Stay warm, stay safe, stay strong ^_^
