  4.  @Roberta_Trevino  1. Just because the video doesn't mention that strongscented coconutoil goes off when it touches oxygen, doesn't mean that couldn't have been the reason. It's an important thing to keep in mind. 2. The teacher was an unprofessional weird woman and the parent and school needs to deal with that. The rest of us are not involved in this. 3. The fact she refuses to talk to the press is one of the most clever things she has done, because nothing has ever been solved by talking to the press. Talking to press about it...taking matters to the media instead of solving it directly with the person (and authorities) involved, is a very American way of dealing with problems and usually causes a lot of harm for all parties involved. This girl would have remembered the situation as 'unpleasant' and 'sad', had it been dealt with privately (and effectively.) Nów, she is the "stinky" not-stinky girl with coconut-oil that was discussed on television. Her friends will have talked about it, her family, her neighbours, her other teachers. Maybe the teacher itself was so overwhelmed she resigned and hid from public attention, because she didn't want to be harassed and threatened. The girl will not remember this as a happy moment at all. 'unpleasant and sad' would be putting it mildly. I've received 4 death-threats before, one including my address, because I mistranslated a word. (not the N word) On an American fanpage about Harry Potter. The actress had great make up on, I wrote a compliment and mistranslated the word for skincolour. One Belgian girl tried to do damage-controll and explained that words have different meanings (in my language it was a kind word) and that Google Translate said the exact same word that I'd used. The girls said; 'It doesn't matter what intention you had, Emma, we will make sure you will never be able to say that word again. We will make sure this will haunt you for the rest of your life. Girls...here is her address, find fellow black women in the Netherlands and let's break her teeth out of that filthy mouth.' 42 hatemessages, 4 death-threats and when I apologized and explained everything in tears, there were 8 more, including one Flemish-impersonator from California that tried to convince women that I'd used a word unmentionable. I mean, I can keep adding information to this, about how the moderator send me a private thankyou-message for the endless tutorials I'd handmade for everyone. And how she regretted not seeing the part 5 of my 'Build your own Godric-sword-lake' video. And hadn't expected the group to be so toxic and unforgiving after translating something wrongly. Bottomline, an honest mistake in translating got me 4 death-threats and one of the biggest parts of my social network was convinced I was a racist shit within minutes. Now imagine the press with that.
