@lucasbrant9856 as a libertarian, I can tell you that 90% of us would side with republicans. We dislike both, but the democrats are hell bent on controlling everything in everyone’s life and therefore are held in higher disdain than republicans. Good news is that this will never happen. Civil war requires two things; disdain and pain. Disdain is in place but there is no where near enough pain or imminent threat of pain to mobilize the masses. Too many people still have way too much to lose to risk a civil war. I’m one of them. I hate what’s happening to our country, but I have a job, a daughter to raise, health insurance, a small house, and a bit of rainy day money. That’s too much to risk for me. Others might feel differently and as a libertarian I respect that view.

@tarphon7091 That is a very good point. I’m a conservative leaning libertarian and for myself, I’d throw in lots with the republicans, but they would give me a much better chance to live life as a libertarian then would the democrats

In a civil war the cities would breakdown and luting and rioting would ensue. roaming gangs would take over and control the streets. It would be utter chaos. the dems would be completely disorganized, undisciplined, and divided. Not to mention the republicans would control the resources (oil, food and in the case of California the water, in the case of the East Coast heating oil and gas), supply lines, guns and people that know how to use them, the military including the navy which would shut down the ports. It would be a wiped out and it wouldn’t be close

@georgebrantley776 good points. I like your comment about the water in CA and CA-based military personnel being hesitant to turn on Californians. That’s all real stuff. Any mutiny would not be a surprise so I am certain the officers would have measures in place before hand. Also keep in mind there is a big difference between a blockade and a offensive action, in terms of crew mentality. I think the rioting in big cities would give the red areas a significant first mover advantage and if coordinated with the intent to end it quickly would fortify the areas of weakness you have mentioned. I grew up in CA and moved to TX 30 years ago. Keep in mind that TX Democrats are very very different than CA Dems. Many would be labeled as conservatives in CA. There’s no doubt in my mind that TX would fall fully red with a few staunch small pockets of blue in the major cities, but would not be a factor. Thankfully this isn’t going to happen in the near future. Civil uprisings require disdain and pain. There is plenty of disdain, but no where near enough pain. By and large, American have too much to lose, to risk everything with civil conflict. That includes me. Am I happy with the direction America is heading? Not at all. Am I about to risk it all and take up arms? Not even close. All the best
