  1. My personal opinion is that LK99 is not a hoax. It's real. However, I have no confidence in its mass production, thus raise non-trivial concerns about its application domains. An analogy can be made about graphene. We have known everything in theory and principle about graphene, but it's prohibitively costly to manufacture graphene in mass production. So it's just a fancy gizmo. As to LK99, I expect that it could soon be used in fusion power and a few high-priced application domains, but the question is: can it be massively produced to be a consumer product? Quite unlikely in the foreseeable future.
