  22. I would like to add my 2 cents about the metro-left phenomenon, i.e., why all big cities turn into ultraleft garbage stations. The universal phenomenon: The urban or metro population is always left leaning, no matter where it is, e.g., in continental Europe since 18th century. For the most recent French election, French leftists are mostly located in Paris metro, versus the anti-leftists in countryside of France. The underlying reason: Could be Thomas Sowell's "Conflict of Vision". Metro people are much more dependent on establishments and various institutions, thus fall for the "Unconstrained Vision". On the other hand, country people are much more independent, thus much more likely to adopt the "Constrained Vision".

  23. Moreover, our Founding Fathers did consider the big-city political anomaly and designed a countermeasure to limit the voting impact of the unusual headcounts in big cities. The countermeasure is similar to the design of the Senate, i.e., allocating equalized quota for all geographic districts regardless of population fluctuations. The countermeasure is: electing federal positions by state legislatures, not by popular votes, because the latter favors too much of those big cities regardless of other broader geographic locations. Unfortunately, the countermeasure was largely cancelled in 1912 by 17th Amendment. The only federal position survived 17A is the position of federal presidency via elector college. Federal Senate positions were changed to direct election decided by popular votes which are determined by the big cities. Given the fact that all big cities become left's garbage stations, America is doomed just like elsewhere (in particular, just like the so-called "democratic" Europe and Latin America), even though our Founding Fathers were much much wiser than founding fathers elsewhere. Grandsons are always wiser than grandpas? I don't think so.
