The real achievement of Gorbachev is that he gave East Europe bloc and Ukraine a chance to enter the modern civilized world. His mother's line is from Ukraine. On the other hand, Russia is hopelessly incorrigible. Gorbachev didn't change the nature of Russia. Sorry for his father's line which is from Russia.
