For NP-complete problems, all you need to check out is that, when the system complexity (size & heterogeneity) is small, you may use a centralized deterministic algorithm to solve the problem. But when the complexity metric surpasses certain threshold, ALL centralized deterministic solutions fail. The only acceptable solution is a probabilistic and distributed one, e.g., something similar to free market.

@arkitectoor That is not a valid argument because the sum of H1B salary and visa maintenance lawyer fees is still less than the regular salary for a qualified citizen. On one hand, the silicon valley big corporations have their own lawyer firms, so the pipeline processings make the lawyer fees negligible. On the other hand, H1B employees do not have benefit package comparable to US citizens. In a nutshell, as long as the procedure is not open and transparent, corruption and abusement happen.

This somewhat explains the reason why Huguenot's Holland, Presbyterian's Scotland and Puritan's early America are more successful, in regard to political integrity, financial probity and social stability, than ALL of other societies.

The reason whythe nowadays America has lost its way is due to the population replacement which replaces the conventional individualists (e.g., Calvinists) with too many anti-individualism new citizens/voters. 1. The education system, in particular the part controlled by socialistic democrats, turns the majority of the new generations to go collectivism. 2. There are too many 'unAmericanized' new immigrants. The Anglicization explicitly required in US immigration/naturalization policy around 1800s was a de facto individualism requirement. It converted continental European immigrants, mostly from Germany, into American individualists. This kind of naturalization policy is long gone and it has dire consequences.
