  4.  @Mentaculus42  just because money is being poured into hydrogen doesn't mean it will be successful. Extraction/production, transportation and storage have too many issues to overcome. It takes more energy to produce it than you get out of it, it's pointless to extract it from natural gas, you can't transport it through steel pipes and storage is a problem. I used to think it had a future back in the 80s and fuel cells may, one day. I mean, why would you extract it from natural gas when burning it is clean anyway? Just to serve an unattainable, pointless net zero co2? Can't see it happening. Certainly not in the foreseeable future. Same as EVs and battery storage. However, mankind would never progress if we stopped research and development into future energy sources.
