Why would they do that when companies like Alstom and Siemens have been doing it for years and have all that experience behind them? This is the kind of thing that bankrupts companies.

They produce a lot of satellites also. My son works for them and enjoys his job. After working on lynx helicopters he likes not getting his hands dirty!

Hydrogen will never see the light of day in anything commercial.

@Mentaculus42 just because money is being poured into hydrogen doesn't mean it will be successful. Extraction/production, transportation and storage have too many issues to overcome. It takes more energy to produce it than you get out of it, it's pointless to extract it from natural gas, you can't transport it through steel pipes and storage is a problem. I used to think it had a future back in the 80s and fuel cells may, one day. I mean, why would you extract it from natural gas when burning it is clean anyway? Just to serve an unattainable, pointless net zero co2? Can't see it happening. Certainly not in the foreseeable future. Same as EVs and battery storage. However, mankind would never progress if we stopped research and development into future energy sources.

@colingenge9999 a well thought and reasoned comment. Needless to say, I completely agree.

Europe know pretty well how to produce food. The protests are because the governments want to stop them.
