there are things that rotate polarization (calcite and light, the ionosphere are radar), but that is different. Nothing is absorbed. Here the energy gets through based on the cos(angle)**2, whether classic electric field (squared) or probabilistic photon.

@Kelticfury I prefer a distributed particle view. You could call it a field, but DCQE is nonrelativistic, doesn’t deal with fields

there are like 10^20 photons...so the flicker is 100 parts per trillion. Look up bunching and anti bunching of light.

photons are 60K x bigger than atoms. 600 nm vs 0.06 nm

you can just doppler shift it --> 0 by moving. A photon doesn't have an energy until a reference frame is defined.

thank god

the correct statement is that the particle takes all possible paths and the amplitudes are added coherently (and then squared to get a probability) . If the paths are different but known, the amplitudes are squared into probabilities, and then added.

no, it's basic trig. look it up on wikipedia.

but the electric and magnetic fields are in phase in EM radiation.

this video was mostly classical, other than single photons.

the animation at 8:10 is wrong. When you know which slit the photon goes through, it is still a wave, and each slit diffracts into a broad smear, and they overlap. They don't interfere, though.

@Dismythed it is very technical, and even challenges me...though I do nuclear, not quantum optics.
1
both. you can do it with buckyballs.

we know
