  19. that is just stupid. This happened in LA and everyone was saying the same dumb thing (ONSCENE has it). The perp T-boner was going 110 mph, airborne off the metro level crossing. The victim could not have seen it coming even if she did slow down and look. On reason, is the distance to the vehicle before the point of no return at that speed (her limit was 45), the other being: THERE WAS AN OFFICE BUILDING BLOCKING HER VIEW.

  21. everyone criticizing the parents: a lot of people don't have a grasp of 17th C physics. 7 ppl in a car drastically changes it's handling due to F=MA, and when you're rolling down the highway at 75 mph (and I mean rolling , not driving), in the body frame of the vehicle, there are 4-8 thousand pounds of centrifugal force on an adult body pulling you out the window-- no amount gripping is keeping you in the car.  If you're holding a 1 year old on your lap, hit the wall a 70, you're gonna need to be able to lift at least 1500 pounds to keep him on your lap.
