  1. There are no inefficiencies in momentum conservation. Kinetic energy can be lost to temp increases, mechanical changes, sound wave energy, but not momentum. (Sound wave momentum, notwithstanding, which is a relativistic phenomenon, and is so tiny for non-relativistic velocities).
