  3. the thing is, classical physics is QM with h-->0, and newton is relativity with c ---> infinity. We know enough math that finding a new theory that limits to relativistic quantum field theory at the small, and general relativity at the large is no easy feat, and our current best effort: String theory, has infinite variability and is unsolvable.

  5. String theory was motivated by a need to explain the 37 free parameters of the Standard Model. Now we have 10^500 parameters from which to choose. Whoops.
