the problem is that this phenomenon is classical, which is why it's easy to understand..as classical physics can be understood.

If you want to understand HUP, you have to understand why momentum is -ihd/dx, because of course a (complex) function can't have a precise location and a precise derivative at the same time. So why is the spatial rate of change of phase (modulated by a probability envelope) the same as momentum? Figure that out, and HUP is cake.

what you're saying is that p=hk, where k is the very classical wave vector projected into x. The "h"'s cancel, and no h means no quantum. A classical relationship.

Since (dx)(dp)>h/4pi, you'd think this is about quantum mechanics...but what is p? p=h/lambda, where lambda is the wavelength projected in the transverse direction. So what you are saying is (dx)/(dlambda)>1/2.. Note that Planck's constant is gone. No "h", no quantum. Now divide by the total wavelength and you get theta = lambda/dx...where theta is the angular width of the spot...and that is CLASSICAL wave phenomenon call diffraction.
