  2. That perception vs danger headline is terrible social science, saying perception is unrelated to fact. I say it's dangerous here in LA, but look: Nawlins is much worse! So what. So was Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944---neither matters because they are other places: LA is dangerous, regardless of more dangerous places existing. I can't stand stupidity masquerading as "science".
