  4.  @drdrums1 but if you don’t play notes that last longer than a quarter second, can anyone tell?

  5.  @markanderson2904  but a 1/2 cent above A is 440.0125Hz, so the beat frequency is 16 seconds, and you need to listen to the notes for that long to count one full beat cycle. But I asked for one note, and you cannot even define a frequency of a note to better than 1/[duration of time you listen to it].
