This is only mind bending if you think an electron is a point particle. Which all do, or did at one time.

@tofu-munchingCoalition.ofChaos but in the restframe, mass is the only nonzero component of the stress energy tensor, and it gets multiplies by c squared, so it’s kinda maxed out.

@zemm9003 I disagree with that. Is there another symmetric rank two tensor you can make from a 4 vector?

You need to understand Lorentz covariants to address this. The Higgs is a scalar field, so it doesn’t have energy, since energy is the time component of a vector. Mass is a scalar. It’s all very representation theory dependent, and does not admit intuition, you need to study the math.
