I didn't watch it, but is there a possibility that the officer's failure to de-escalate allowed it to get to the point that it was justified? I mean the state of "justified" can go from "no" to "yes" in a split second, it's just that no descent cop would let that transition happen....but it happened, so here we are. He clearly wasn't trained in crisis intervention--and "training" actually means something. tl;dr fired as cop, but not a criminal act?
