  1. The coriolis force depends on the reference frame. In the joggers frame, there is less g anitspinward, and that is called the Eotvos Effect (g depends on direction of travel) There is no coriolis force because the jogger isn’t moving. In the frame of the ring, there is a coriolis force because the jogger has a velocity, and antispinward, he can cancel the centrifugal g, in which case he is at rest relative to the outside world…so he’s just floating there.

  2. @ weird. Every 1000 yard range I’ve seen was north/south, so lots of coriolis effect and no Eötvōs effect. But the point is: in the reference frame of the bullet, the eotvos effect is purely centrifugal force, while in the reference frame of the range, it’s purely the vertical part of the Coriolis force.
