As someone born in Ukraine and speaking fluent Russian - I wouldnt pay too much heed to these "Russian partisans". Most Russians view them similar to the Vlassovtsyu who fought with General Vlassov for the Whermacht in WW2. They are a fringe group using Ukraine war as a pretext. Слава Советскому Союзу!

@axis1662 why would I not? Ukraine brings no benefit to me - universities are worse, quality of life is worse, government is incredibly corrupt, half the population hates the other half, better job/educational opportunities in Russia, I don't wanna be an American puppet. Also add to that less pragmatic/selfish reasons like: we have same culture and language, same history, watch many of the same films, we aren't treated as fully "European" abroad, our sports program methods are based on Russian ones, all our cities in the East and South where built by the Russians, etc. There's literally no reason for us to be seperate countries. We would be stronger together. Plus we need revenge for the collapse of the USSR and the death and destruction it brought on our people. I'd support West Ukraine separating from us and leaving the rest of us alone and not bothering us by trying to force their local Polish dialect and different culture down our throats.

Ukrainians are viewed as Russkij and thus cannot be enemies of Russia. They view it as an unfortunate (and necessary) consequence of US Imperialism needing to fight Ukraine.

It is grinding down the Russian military? Really? According to who? MediaZona places Russian kia at 20k, Russian armor hasn't significantly been damaged (take Oryx numbers not withstanding). So far it's been grinding down Ukraines military, not the opposite

All of the "Partisan" actions that we know of so far have been done at the behest of Ukraine either by people sent by Ukrainian secret services or people paid off by them and given bombs. It's not indicative of anything tbh. There is an identical movement but in reverse in Ukraine - how else do you think Russians get the coordinates to do missile strikes so precisely on Ukrainian targets? There are many sympathetic civilians within Ukraine using the numerous telegram chat bots to send coordinates to the Russian army.

@PrestonStewart furthermore, have you noticed how the conquered cities have not had many protests or problems for Russia? Take the example of Melitopol, the population is largely supportive of Russia which is why you see citizens making daily videos of their lives in Melitopol and talking how their lives are there. For the most part, they are either indifferent or happy to be with Russia seeing it as a "coming home" situation. Many cities in East Ukraine are much the same way. This is a topic I think it would be interesting for you to cover. PS. There have been some assassinations in Russian held territories but it usually ends up being someone from GUR or SBU and not local civilians - Ukraine has many cells in those cities and the borders are porous (friends of mine can easily go between Ukrainian and Russian territory to visit friends and family) so it's not that hard to smuggle weapons in.

@PrestonStewart here's a citizen of Melitopol talking about life under Russian occupation/sanctions. The TL:DR is they don't feel the affect of sanctions and don't mind being under Russia. He is also talking about how mainland cellphone service doesn't work but that the locally made cellphone service has improved in quality over the last year.
