How is it pyrrhic though? How many people did they lose according to you? MediaZona (anti-Russian resource) estimates Wagner lost 3-4k men taking Bakhmut. That's nothing considering Ukraine had to tap into their NATO reserves

I mean as of half an hour ago, pictures are coming out of destroyed Humvees in Belgorod. Safe to say they've been eliminated

@PreparedOverlander it's not defended territory tho lel. Russia is too large to defend every inch of it, so its not surprising Ukraine entered. It's a matter of how fast Russia reacted

@DerDop lol Strelkov has been wrong abt most things since 2014. He claimed Russia would be defeated in Syria and that would cause a removal of Putin. But Russia won in Syria and Putin is still around...

@ChucksSEADnDEAD yes official Ukrainian army lost to a PMC that did the bulk of the fighting, losing plenty of men and material (as evidenced by photos of blown up Bradleys) in the process all while being on the defensive. All VDV did was hold the flanks to make sure Wagner did not get attacked, it did not participate in much of the assualts.

@ChucksSEADnDEAD yeah ironically Ukraine somehow lost more men to a MERCENARY company while being on the defensive. Must have been those FAB500s lel

They lost a bunch of convicts. And how many people is "alot"? The best estimates I have seen have been around 3-4k Russia lost (Mediazona) whereas Ukraine lost alot more than that despite being on the offensive
2
@J Dawg they got "obliderated" in Ugledar?🤔 they lost a few tanks to mines and most of the people escaped, Ukraine resorted to dropping bombs on mostly empty tanks.

@dh1380 Bakhmut is one of the most important transportation and logistical centers in the region. It's very important as it opens the road to Kromatorsk/Slovyansk, the last two major settlements between Russia owning the entirety of Donbass

@Nessevi 🤦♂️ the fact is you need 3:1 to take fortifications not thwt you lose three times more men. Secondly, the numbers of Wagner are well known - there was 30-60k wagnerians vs 60-80k Ukrainians. At best it was 1:1 at worst Wagner was numerically inferior. In any case the statistic you cited is wrong in this case

@Abraham Sorby how does that make any sense 😂🤦♂️

@chrisangel4145 @Chris Angel I know what a pyrrhic victory is. It's up to you to prove "the great cost" thesis. Mediazona is not a pro-Russian source though - its a Estonian source with NATO funding that has one of the best methodologies for counting Russian losses. If you recall, Prigozhin said on their bad day Wagner lost 30 men and on the worst day 50 men. That means every other day they lost much fewer men than that. Indeed, the day he had his infamous meltdown, he said that days losses were 30 men and he considered that BAD. While that may look optically bad for us, who are unaccustomed to seeing bodies strewn about, in reality it represents very light daily losses. The AFU by many measures, including that of Prigozhin’s own, suffers 300-500 per day in Bakhmut alone. Bakhut was not assaulted for 9 months though - there were some skirmishes on the outskirts for 9 months but claiming it was an assualt is like claiming that the current Ukrainian skirmishes on the outskirts of Bakhmut are an "assault on Bakhmut" by Ukraine. The active phase of the Bakhmut operation began in January. One could argue that assaulting a heavily fortified area with a numerically inferior (Wagner 60k vs Ukraines 80k + reinforcements) force, sustaining few casualties in the process and taking the city relatively quickly is a huge win. Had Russia used greater numbers, it would have been taken faster.

@DerDop he was wrong abt almost everything in Ukraine tho lmao. He was also removed from command of Slovyansk group in 2014 because he royally fucked it up and caused its loss. He was offered to command and change things on the Front but ended up staying at the back. Shows how much he knows lel
1
@ShmuckCanuck lmao it's not a secret anymore. Even Pentagon papers confirmed this 🤦♂️
1
@Tom Henry that makes no sense considering that there was 30k - 60k wagnerians overall lel

@SonsOfLorgar lol bro those symbols are the exact symbols the Russian volunteer corps used on their vehicles. Go look it up yourself Russia/Ukraine has their generals on the front - its part of Soviet docterine since WW2 thats why both sides lose alot of generals There are no "Russian partisans" lmao. You're gullible. Those "Russian partisans" are usually Ukrainians who are sent from Ukraine onto Russian territory.

@johnathanhughes9881 no its hard to fake a destroyed Avenger AD because until now Russia didn't have any :) besides its more effort than its worth to fake, and co sidelong we don't hear anything about Ukrainian troops in Belgorod, we can safely say they are all dead :)
1
@Johnathan Hughes sounds like a cope. Notice how nobody talks abt the incursion into Russia now? Wonder why? Because it failed lel
1
@johnathanhughes9881 Prigozhin also said that Ukraine lost 3-5x more men than Wagner, so that's in the 30-100k lost ukranians according to your logic. Lol that's why theres photos of blown up Bradleys in Bakhmut?
