@docthunder8678 lol you heard wrong. That's why Russia currently has about 200 nationalities speaking their own language (eg Tatars, Bashkirs, Yakuts, etc) and teaching their local language in schools. In fact, in Soviet era, Soviet government helped different nationalities develop a written language, like Ukrainians, Kazakhstan, Yakuts, Mongolians, etc.

@Andrii Goncharenko lol. You just told me you know nothing of Russian culture beyond memes you see on 1+1.
Lets fix your errors.
Religion: Russia's official religion is Eastern Christian Orthodox and most people in Russia are Eastern Christian Orthodox. There are some people of different religions which is normal for a large, multi ethnic country but they are in minority. The main difference with Ukraine is Russia does not attempt to destroy the Church as its currently doing. That is a difference. I'll give you that lol. Not sure it's something to be proud of though.
Cuisine: lol this is straight from Ukrainian TV trying to compare Russia to "Mongol horde". There is nothing in Russian cuisine that isn't in Ukrainian cuisine. Russian cuisine is more influenced by Eastern European and French cuisines like Caviar and Salad Olivier and various bulochki that they like to eat. Just like Ukraine.
Traditional Dress: the vyushvyuvanka is a form of Kosovortka as depending on the region of Russia/Ukraine there would be different amounts of embroidery. If we look at the clothing of Eussian aristocracy and rich merchant class from the Middle Ages it has some quite elaborate embroidery, which is not different from Ukranian forms.
Architecture: lmao what? Russian churches have many different forms depending on time period and locations. They were predominantly wooden with various beautiful moldings and not all had onion domes. If we look at Russian izbas (изба) they look no different from Ukranian ones (which also heavily differed depending on region)
Literature: all the authors you listed spoke and wrote in Russian primarily, Ukrainian was always heavily secondary to them and they did it mostly for fun.
Music: Russian folk music utilizes both the bandura and balalaika. The reason that Ukraine doesn't have its own composers is because they listened to Russian composers and saw them mostly as their own too.
National symbols: of course Ukraine is going to make up different "national symbols" lmao. Even random regions like Urdmurtiya or Yakutsk have their own symbols and even flags. Dagestan also has its own anthem and these are territories within the Russian Federation. Don't see how that proves Ukraine is "vastly different" from Russia
Sports: Russian school of gymnastics is world renknown, so much so that Russia is one of the countries with the most medals in gymnastics. Ukraine doesn't even come close. Besides, like with basically every sport, Ukraine uses Russian school for training its gymnasts and Russian classifications (like МС and КМС). Again you just show me similarities of Ukraine with Russia.
Climate: Russia is so large as to have both mild continental climates and polar climates and even subtropical climates. I don't see how this proves anything lmao
Political history: Ukraine played a huge role in the founding of the USSR, and was one of USSRs founding countries. Also, both Ukraine and Russia were the first to seperate from the USSR.
Economic history: Ukraine has alot of state backed companies as well - look at what happened to Motor Sich when the Chinese wanted to buy a stake in it. Ukraine sold it, took the money then took it back. This is what state backed economies do.
Military History: Ukraine has a long history of conflict with itself over the fact that half the country has never seen itself as "Ukrainian" and this co flict has continued to this day. As for Crimea, Ukraine also has a history of territorial expansion by invading and annexing independent Crimea in May 1995.
Thanks for only demonstrating my point that there is little difference between Russia and Ukraine and further enforcing the notion that Ukraine is at best a renegade Russian province.
