Air support won't make a difference . Russian AA is considered some of the best in the world, it will just shoot down Ukrainian air the moment it shows up. Ukraine has air capability but it doesn't use it, due to fear of losing it. I'd even go as far to say, air support is mostly obsolete against a peer opponent

@Alex McLennan air capability wouldn't help much against Russia AA (which the West claims is best in the world). Ukraine does have air capability, it just can't use it or risk losing all of it

Lol don't get the hate on Soviet tactics. Russia is using Soviet tactics and wiping the floor with Ukraine. Ukraine is using NATO tactics and not doing well

This is not Soviet tactics, this is NATO tactics. Soviets will shell the area to oblivion before they even thunk about moving in

 @degle1923 it was "successful" because the Russians didn't really fight. They didn't have enough men and material so they pulled back. Different situation now enyirely
