  13.  @johnnyroycerichardsoniii3273   Marx's Capital explains the basis of the entire economic system you live in. And it explains alternatives. There is a reason every hedge fund manager on Wall Street worth his salt has read it. Define "better books"? What specifically makes them "better"? What I listed is foundational books that every person seeking to become a student of philosophy and military theory must read. I would hope a youngster that reads such books develops an excellent understanding of the world around him, is able to see through propaganda of any sort, is able to truly think independently, and is capable for self development and becoming an Aristocrat of the Soul so to speak. Also, i'd tell them to prepare for war as there will be a large war soon that will draw everyone in. Those who have prepared are more likely to survive - it may sound like a crazy idea but its not if you think about it. Lakes of blood? I expected a more nuanced analysis from someone who purports to read. Are you seriously going to suggest "The Constitution of Liberty" as an actual serious book worth reading? Lol. Hayek doesnt address the elephant in the room - economic prowess or "liberty". In order for liberty to even be a viable option, it needs to be backed up by lots of money - which is why every poor nation that became democratic country espousing "liberty" but was not supported financially by the United States became corrupt and democracy ultimately failed there (look at Eastern Europe since the fall of the USSR, Iraq, South America as a whole, etc). I strongly dislike that you continue recommending books by Hayek who keeps spouting nonsense about liberty. As a philosopher he should first prove that "liberty" and individualism are superior systems. Indeed, I could point you to Hegel and Kant that have skmething to say on these topics lol. Also, a strong argument can be made about why collectivism is superior. You are seriously promoting a fictional book like The Archipelago Gulag? Really? You do realize its a fictional work and was based on the stories of 8 hardened criminals who got in there for various nefarious crimes like murder? Also, it severly misrepresents what gulags actually were. But thats straying off topic. LOL i cant actually believe you suggested Milton Friedman. You do realize that if you know even a little history then the concept of "capitalism and freedom" makes no sense? Go look at European history and how it gained its wealth. It wasnt through "capitalism" or "liberty" but through conquest and plunder. This provided the necessary stepping point for industrialization (British capitalism killed 150 million people in India alone to ensure that profits from Indian tea do not stop). And here you are unironically telling people to read Hayek and Milton Friedman LOL This is already getting long lol but I can continue if you like. Wait did you recommend more fiction like 1984 and Brave New World? I thought we were talking about serious books for serious study not for entertainment. What wrong with Gramsci? He criticized Mussolini, got into prison for it. He talks about how in capitalist countries institutions are used as a means to promote cultural hegemony (which is exactly what you are demonstrating in your book recommendations lol) to maintain power. This is also what we currently see with politicians constantly harping on about "instiutions this, institutions that". Wait till you read "Manufactering Consent". Indeed, Gramsci should make you question your entire worldview as it did me. I think it should be mandatory reading from grade 10 onwards for all kids. Also remember I said I only read books from before 1945 because everything after is highly politicized? Well go look at the dates of most of the works you submitted, theres a reason why they cannot be taken seriously.

  14.  @johnnyroycerichardsoniii3273    lol you wrote a bunch of word salad that makes capitalism is superior? According to who? Capitalism is the default civilizational state nad has existed since at least the times of the Delian League in Athens. It has collapsed every time. Indeed, Rome was capitalist and fell. Capitalism failed every time it has been tried throughout history. How does collectivism imply one has no interest in self preservation? In fact, self preservation is what caused humans to band together into collectives since hunter gatherer times and be cooperative hunters. Collectivism is what allowed our species to survive the neolithic, not individualism. Self preservation and survival of the human race until now only proves that individualism is unnatural and doesnt work. Lol and where did the money come from for the "5000 year leap"? Hmm it must have been from all the freedom america has right? Lol. Or maybe from constant invasion, expansion and acquistion of new territory. In particular it came from America helping the British invade the Chinese during the Opium wars, which flooded both Britain and America with Silver and then American industrialists engaged in industrial piracy (that they now accuze china of) and stole alot of British tech. Capitalism had nothing to do with it lol. Hmm. Pray tell me, how many people did Britain forcibly starve in India? And how many people has America killed in the name of democracy? Also, Nazi Germany was capitalist - how many people did it kill? Capitalism has far more blood on its hand lmao. Im from a post-Soviet country - 1984 was absolute nonsense and has nothing to teach us about "totalitarianism". Indeed, if anything America is the spitting image of big brother due to its unprecedented surveillance programs as revelead by Snowden and PRISM surveillance program (recent Twitter files releases only confirm this). You claim the communist manifesto is a hunk of crap but fail to tell me why u think so beyond just "reasons". Besides the communist manifesto is just a pamphlet meant as a call to action lol. The people who organize the proleteriat is People's councils elecred by the proleteriat. If you actually bothered to study the material you wouldnt write such nonsense. You do realize that Gulags was a continuation of Tsarist era labor camps? And the Tsarist era was very much capitalist? Also you do realize that labor camps were the invention of the British in Africa? But yeah lets pretend like its an exclusively soviet phenomenon lol. In fact you wrote a giant word salad that makes no sense. Try again. Wait you want capitalism with a safety net? LOL. That goes against the tenents of capitalism as envisioned by America, its founding fathers. True capitalism in America was in the 1800s were the worker had no protections. Youre straying too much into the territory of Marx here - and here I thought you said he was garbage LOL Kid, you need to read more history and think about what you read and not just write word salads that make no sense based on emotion. Also, you gotta examine your beliefs and see where they came from - otherwise youll get nowhere.
