I mean judging by the failure of Ukrainian counteroffensive, Ukraine will not be able to push Russia out of its territory

what a cope. Military production has a knockdown effect on the rest of the economy as workers (currently working in 3 shifts) make more money than usual, they are able to spend it and further invest it into the economy, it also stimulates innovation and improves logistical chains and integration of local companies. None of this will disappear after the war ends, instead the economy will reorient towards greater civilian production. We have seen this happen time and time again.

@Raussl 40% is a huge amount especially for industry that operates on thins margins - this is why Germany has started deindustrializing and some of its titans of industry are leaving the country as they cannot afford the tight margins due to energy prices

@Raussl even in Russian provinces the effect of sanctions is not felt. And people are not drafted, they go yhemselves because the salaries are outsized and life is cheap and they make 10x what regular people make fighting

@miroslavhoudek7085 actually the lives lost is a benefit as it makes the labor market a buyers market because not enough labor. This increases wages. Just because American vets self medicate with drugs and live on the streets, doesnt mean the same happens in Russia - indeed, we are seeing the State doing an exceptional job supporting its vets, offering good medical and social services ciuntry wide to help vets return to.society.
