@sparkzbarca the crackdown on Ant was going to happen regardless of what Ma said. This was just a useful pretext to do it faster

@Endoplexer Theres no such thing as CCP lol. There is only CPC

Lenovo being or not being decentralized and having stock components have little to do withnit not being banned by the US. It has everything to do with the US not yet realizing its a threat to American companies, like Huawei was to apple/controlled alot of critical patents like 5G (that the US wanted to control). Its only a matter of time before Lenovo gets sanctioned too Over the years, there have been numerous tests of Huawei products and no vulnerabilities or attempts to sabotage telecom networks were found. The source code for Huaweis 5G was even privided to regulators in Germany! These sanctions had everything to do with competition and nothing to do with "transparency". If Huawei or Tiktok were more "transparent" another reason would have been found to sanction them. The reason doesnt matter, its the underlying principle that doesnt change

It's only a matter of time I think

@RiderChallenge Japan also had a reputation for "bad quality" at a time too

@Overlordian the official temr is CPC. Thats what the CPC calls itself as well lol

@Daniel Kaschel ironically Bloomberg recently wrote an article that Decoupling isn't happening as planned because companies can't find the integrated logistics system that China has anywhere else in the world
4
@KRIGBERT the "democratic process" is subverted by money and corporate interest. Indeed, voters in the US doesnt matter, studies show that the influence one has on the "democratic process" in the US is directly proportional to the amount of money one has
3
@gold9994 id day Lenovo Legions are in competition with Asus for quality
2
@valcaron a harmful industry is one that exploits people, promotes unhealthy behaviours or puts the wellbeing of the country at risk.
1
@flutterwind7686 "totalitarian"? Lol you do realize china has elections at the local levels and central government encourages protests?
1
@KRIGBERT lol imagine thinking that Denmark is "actually democratic" lol And you do realize that the DPRK is arguably more democratic than Denmark as it tries to even the playing field both politically and economically?
1
@KRIGBERT well democracy with capitalism is not democracy as the democratic process will be subverted by money and corporations. The only way you can have real democracy is by having both political self determination (voting) paired with economic self determination (socialism)
1
@KRIGBERT institutions are overrated and are corrupted and controlled by the government process as a whole
1
@flutterwind7686 lol no. The protests are frequently against local governments on jssues of corruption (mostly) or mistreatment. This causes central government to step in to remove the officials. Case in point, recent shanghai protests or those in Henan
1
@othmanhassanmajid8192 the chinese are running now, thats what the trade war is abt
1
@Gilbert Franklin you do realize 80% of the population supports their government in China? That's more democratic than doing it the American way where 30% of the population supports their government
1
@Michael B they still have 600 million or so in rural areas in poverty. So quite a large workforce to draw from
1
@Sergey Kish it is though. Second economy in the world for decades, despite being utterly destroyed twice. It collapsed due to internal betrayal, not due to ineffectiveness
1
@Endoplexer and what happened according to the media that lied about Iraq, Afghanistan, Covid and ukraine?
1
@Oye yes you will. And you will grow to like it. What are you gonna do, overthrow the government?
