Socialist societies can be more efficient and responsive in dealing with a crises such as COVID-19 because of several factors, firstly the economy is not driven by the profits of a minority of bankers and corporate owners but by the collective needs of the people themselves. Secondly the economy is planned according to necessity, demand and supply rather than left to the anarchy of the "free market" which is somehow supposed to regulate itself while being directed by corporate owners mostly concerned with theirs and shareholder profits, the stakeholders etc are just objects. Thirdly the people in socialist societies are educated according to collectivist ideological principles, a one-for-all all-for-one attitude, whereas in capitalist society there are indeed many good people; but greed and panic buying in opposition to solidarity and cooperation is the unfortunate side effect of being trained in the "law of the jungle" individualist ideology that is an intrinsic feature of societies where the national means of production is able to be private property.

@jdod64 i thought freedom of the press was one of americas first amendment rights? As for the revoking of the press pass, isnt the right to due process mentioned somewhere in the 5th?

@aaronpetersen2736 probably because it was being musdiagnosed in the US over a month before it appeared in Wuhan, right after american servicemen were there participating in the international military games

@fredwright987 CDC members admitted that various influenza cases could have possibly been COVID-19. Influenza activity in 2019 began in October, and the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan happened in November. It is highly possible that COVID-19 already existed in the US before China’s outbreak. In October, the US military went to Wuhan for the World Military Games. There were soldiers who were sick, and COVID-19 broke out a month later. It is a possibility that the sick American soldiers at the games might have had undiagnosed COVID-19, and brought it to Wuhan. If those possibilities are in fact true, an extra layer of hypocrisy is added to all the red scare propaganda, Trump calling it the “Chinese virus”, the racism of calling Chinese people savage for “eating bats”, and the implications of the US military bringing a virus to China.
