The offensive three days ago cost ukraine 300+ personel, 6 tanks and has already been halted by russian ground forces. This was a suicidal move with no real objective.
23
The support from Russias allies seem to be increasing, not the other way around, or were you talking about Ukraine?
19
@work9090 then those empires lost their overseas territories to peoples movements that were supported by the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China.
11
Zelensky is going to run out of cannon fodder before Russia runs out of Kalibrs.
11
Meanwhile the DNR flag still flys proudly over Donetsk, just as the LNR Banner flys ofer Lugansk, and the Russian tri-color flys over Crimea. Slava Donbasu 🖤💙❤
10
If Porshenko cared about the Ukrainian people he would have made peace 7 years ago. If Zelenskyy cared about the Ukrainian people he would have ordered a halt to all military offensives upon assuming office, if he cared about democracy he wouldnt have banned all opposition parties, if he wanted peace with russia he wouldnt have upheld the collective punishment of the Crimean people. Ukraine provoked the situation we have today, spurred on by western support and empty promises, now the people have to pay the cost. Slava Donbasu!! 🖤💙❤
9
Aww how cute, uncle sam's puppet came to put on a show
8
@Polentaccio Aye and when Ulraine cut off fresh water to Crimea, they deprived 7 million Russian and Ukrainian citizens of their basic human right. This action was criminal violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention, Ukraine refused to negotiate on this matter, leaving russia with little choice but its obligation to safeguard its citizens, as any nation would.
8
Not sure how this guy got or maintained US citizenship while serving in a foreign military.
7
They gave peace a chance for 7 years while Ukraine violated Minsk 1 & 2 on a weekly basis, while I agree to the second point, any honor they had left they sold to PepsiCo in 1991, they arent the reason any peace negotiation will continue to fail, Ukraine was never interested in peace, only the complete subjugation of the population of donbas to a regime that doesnt represent the people, a fact made clear in the "antiterrorist campaign " launched in 2014.
7
@work9090 for now, but the shift has been steadily rising over the past two decades BRICS will lead this century while G7 is on a long term economic decline.
6
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
6
Well given that the advance has been halted and Ukraine lost 300+ soldiers and 6 tanks, I wouldnt count on it
6
Olivia-tk9ff the people of Donetsk and Lugansk asked Russia for help for 8 years before they did, why the double standard?
5
@Haley123ful none of this would have happened if Poroshenko hadnt started the military campaign in 2014 against the populace of donbas, that act made Russian intervention inevitable, like an illegal coup wasnt enough.
4
This is just a propaganda announcement same as every other day, the Ukrainian counter attack to retake kherson never even materialized.
4
Slava Donbassu!!! Glory to Donbass. My heart has been breaking for the peaceful people of Donbass for 8 years, but I know they will endure Kiev's tyranny.
4
@Intranetusa Russia can call on a reserve strength of a further 2 million and if it had to, it could conscript a further 14 million, France and Germany both made the mistake of underestimating russian manpower and resolve, you sound really eager to follow in thier footsteps.
4
The NATO point is a side issue, not the reason for the conflict, the primary russian objective is and has been the defence of the Russian speaking populace of Donetsk and Lugansk who came under direct threat when Poroshenko launched a punitive military campaign against them in 2014 following an illegal pro-western coup in Kiev that overthrew the elected government. A conflict that Russia tried repeatedly to mediate 8 years before being left with no choice other than intervening to end the conflict by force.
4
@Delphinus-d9rGood for you, ready to pay for your own war?
4
how was the intervention unprovoked?
4
Not sure what's really stupid about that? They clearly have a great effect for low cost
3
IT is, and yes, it is a bad thing.
3
@Generic266 Ukraine invaded the Donbas republics after declaring regional autonomy following an illegal coup in Kiev, following the invasion the Donbas republics asked Russia for assistance, Russia spent 8 years trying to mediate the conflict, Ukraine was not interested in a negotiated settlement and violated multiple ceasefire agreements, Russia intervened directly in the conflict in support of the donbas republics, then after 2 years of direct conflict Ukraine invaded Russia, triggering a 60 year old defence agreement between Russia and the DPRK, to which Korea is acting in accordance with
3
@GMG455 And you've been losing conflicts around the world for two decades.
3
@lamar3697 if Iran cant and couldnt touch them, then what is the IDF claiming defence from as the excuse to these attacks?
3
@jordansummach4198 No annexations because your imperialist war was for economic exploitation as opposed to regional stability, America left after that teet was sucked dry.
3
Slava Donbasu!! 🖤💙❤
3
Not that busy, they only have 20% of their armed forces busy in Ukraine, and are still lending assistance to Syria, these rebels are playing the same game of FAFO that ISIS tried.
3
Same, its acid reflux.
3
@jooo7011 Yeah, they wanted referendum, Not war, they wanted democratic change, not a western backed coup, they didnt intentionally direct a civilian passenger airline to fly over an active warzone, Kiev's ATC tower did that. So yeah.
2
What you mean the hero's that "died valiantly" as reported by Ukrainian propaganda only to be filmed in russian captivity being fed and allowed correspondence with their families? Those heros? The ones that surrendered? LMAO NBC is trying to take comedy central's spot.
2
@roseroserubi5496 wasnt It with Iranian funding and support that Hamas was able to carry out October 7th? Or was that another one of Netanyahu's black projects?
2
At minimal cost given the context, as It further isolates Bakhmut and provides a new logistics hub for Russia's offensive pivot.
2
Washington's unilateral decision to recognize the Golan Heights as Israel territory violates international law and the UN Security Council resolutions.
2
@hungnguyen-tr4cn Dictatorship of the Proletariat 100% I did live under capitalism in the United States and lost everything including most of my family members.
2
@sergiytokio7295 "Cuba is not going to fight in the United States, so the white house's hysteria of the transfer of weapons to Cuba is unfounded and manipulative." That would be you in 1962 right?
2
@michaeldy3157 Which is a moot point given that the PRC is floating the Russian economy
2
@utubes720 did you spam every comment with outrage when the US funded an armed coup to overthrow Ukraine's elected government? Did you spam with outrage when Poroshenko launched a punitive military campaign against the population of the Donbas? Did you spam outrage when Ukrainian artillery shells started raining down on towns and cities in Donetsk and Lugansk? Russia had intervened in a conflict that had been ongoing for 8 YEARS when it became clear that Ukraine had no interest in a negotiated peace settlement.
2
@comradeiosif2794 real americana should do more to take care of the 50 million americans living in abject poverty.
2
kangaroo court.
2
Ukraine is losing ground on every front already, KPA support is more symbolic than anything else, it just shows Russia has more committed allies than Ukraine does.
2
@Polentaccio The people of Crimea held a democratic referendum to leave Ukraine, that was they're choice, regardless of that matter, how is any circumstance supposed to justify the collective punishment of 7 million people, both Ukrainian and Russian alike?
2
@Roaan-Knight yeah that's why a quarter of Ukraine's former territory is now rightfully Russian.
2
Lyman isnt Donetsk clowns.
1
@onequestion2059 a neighbor that did everything to ask for it.
1
@aaronthompson3454 these guys are so fuggin delusional they might as well be waiting for army detachment Steiner to swing down from the northwest and route the russians, any day now LMAO
1
@crazyzombie9720 and the businesses being left are being nationalized and reopened...
1
@DelGTAGrndrs Not really, all weapons seen as of yet in the hands of DNR and LNR militias so far have been from soviet stockpiles, AK-74's with wood furniture, BTR's, BMP's, T-72's, and T-34/85's, when fighting broke out in 2014 following the illegal coup most of the militias that were formed were still using afghan era soviet uniforms.
1
@oldmaninshorts1 Which will be mitigated by the nationalization of abandoned businesses, increased dependency on the Chinese Yuan, and the collectivization of social services and labor to compensate the worsening economy as it will only serve as an example to most russians of how the capitalists free market experiment has failed miserably, so the ultimate price will be pushing russia back into the warm embrace of socialism. Nice.
